30-40 mph winds out of the n/e and blowing drifting snow. Blizzard warnings for 2 counties I'm supposed to be at today. I think I'll hang out here.

cloudy, 40 or so, waiting for the "flurries" to start - I hate it when they say "no big deal" or something to that effect.. we usually get twice what they have called for..

Your carb looks a lot nicer than mine... For a stock 318 that is only going to be a street car, Edelbrock 1406 or Holley 600? I have both, will have to clean up either one. I realize this is a Hornet's nest question, but which one (straight out of the box) would be most hassle free?

I have one of each also. I like the Edelbrock. Easy to work on, tune, and no gaskets below the fuel in the bowl. The fuel inlet on the Holley is on the drivers side which I don't like.
 
can't help ya Ben - I've got that crazy 950 and a Road Demon 850 - the 850 was on my last 318 -but that's neither here nor there here.. there..

Figure out how to make it work and sell it to us.....make a million. A friend put power windows in his 38 Dodge sedan. His motors and switches were from a Cordoba he used as a donor car.
The motor gear teeth and the regulator teeth were a match so he just removed the crank and mounted the motor. Apparently not that easy for your application. (or as much room) The Rat Rod pickup guys on my route use the original cranks to operate the switches which is cool.
 
previous owner deleted the wiper motor on my car and welded up the area on the firewall where it was mounted - no studs left even.. so I am forced into finding an alternative method for having working wipers.. PITA but I will get it.

AHHH! I understand now. Power wipers just sounded weird...
 
I am leaving the OEM wiper arm mounting studs (under dash) and the wiper shaft mount plates that come with the kit don't fit (of course) - - it's intimidating re-configuring and drilling holes in $300 kit - but it is what it is - I have the pass.side fitted so now I know what I am up against with the drivers side one- I will take some pics soon.

Carter and Edelbrock carbs are pretty much take out of box, bolt on, set mixture and go. Holleys require a little more fine tuning, but with some time can be set up to run great.

For just out of the box and go, use Edelbrock, Carter.

If you know how to tune a Holley and have the time, go with Holley...
 
Hello all. My team got there asses handed to them yesterday! But on the bright side I have lots of Beer left over from my SB party. going to be 80 degrees here today. A holley can be a real smooth running Carb. So can a Carter AFB. I do like AFB but I think holley is the better design for guys that like to "tinker, tune". I have trouble getting over how simple the AFB is! And the polar opposite is the Holley.
