Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well I wanted to get started to get the quarters on. But I got a call to get my little motorcycle out of storage.

The trunk extensions and wheel wells seem to be in decent shape. I have a new set of springs to take the sag out. And another rear bumper. First I have to take the tank out to clean it out. What is the best thing to clean out varnish and crap?

Hey there Benricky! Boy I hope you can work it out to get to Hoppy's lift and load day

I would find a cheap mineral spirit based solvent...

Or use a good soap and water, maybe go to the do-it-yourself car wash and spray it with the pressure sprayer... Be careful of back splash, maybe wear a raincoat... :toothy1:

Or rinse it real good with dawn soap and your garden hose until all the crap stops coming out...

So I need a mineral spirit to cut the varnish and crap? I don't know what is in there but it kept messing the intake valves..? The guy who did my head said get that old gas and crap out of the tank before running it again.

When i did the tank on my scout, i used a gallon of acetone and about 2 feet of small chain. I hung it by ropes from the ceiling, taped up the openings, and swung the crap out of it. Cleaned it up rather nice. Finished with several rounds of hot soapy water.

Yep, a petroleum based solvent that you can get at a reasonable price, then rinse with soap and water afterwards...

I gotta go cook some burgers...

Went shopping earlier and I forgot to pick up the buns...

Then dropped off the kid's car at doug's so he could fix it. Doug fed us dinner...

I picked up buns on the way home...

Now to cook the burgers and save them for later...

Catch you later gaters...

I am thinking of replacing the fuel lines as well. Or is this overkill. The slant 6 has good compression and runs great until the intake valves started hanging up and bending lifters. So I had the head checked did new springs and cleaned the intakes valves were so gummed up.!

Id either replace them or flush the crap out of them... cheap insurance..

If its in good shape Id just flush it. If rusty or other issues, probably a good time for new

Finally!
