It's mostly due to the under-hood body geometry. '74 was different than the later '75+ bodies so the design changed after '74

probably my most favorite part I have ever bought on FABO ....I have even slept while hugging it because I have yet to ever see another one like it.

this is the ad pic ...since then I have added the missing vacuum pod and cleaned it up so it I can have it in my bedroom.

Now I found the correct 1974 TQ carb it goes to and I found a date coded 1974 intake, so I want to put them together and keep them on a shelf as a matched set ....which is why I need the correct bolts :D

Mine has the snorkels farther apart...

Mainly what was changed (even within '74 models) was the washer fluid reservoir location and the heater hose routing. The air cleaner geometry changed accordingly in order to pull the best "cool" air from under the hood.

If you look closely at the complete under hood mechanical orientation, the reasons for the air cleaner geometry changes becomes apparent.
 
Oh dear, I just got a call from my mother-in-law. My father-in-law has brain cancer. He made it through non Hodgkin's lymphoma chemo therapy and was doing good a couple weeks ago. Now this.

I cant believe I found the little torsion bar hair clips on feebay .......

around 15 bucks shipped for brand new ones :cheers::)

now to go wait by my mail box

You got them because they fit ALL mopars, just happens they fit our cars. If only fit our cars, you would not be able to get them.

The evolution of Mopar technology is why I love my 2006 Charger SRT so much. It has a 370 cid Hemi engine putting down 425 HP/ 420 lb/ft Tq stock. Coupled with a 5 speed NAG1 tranny (4 spd with 1 OD gear) and a 3.06 rear it does 13s flat in the 1/4 mile from the factory. It also has 4 piston Brembo slotted disc brakes that stop it from 60mph to zero in under 2 secs (130').

The engine design is pure elegance. 370 cid cast iron block with push rod lifters, aluminum Hemi heads, aluminum single plenum intake, Fender pull air intake, port injection, 8 coil pack ignition with 2 plugs per cylinder, short tube headers, and dual cross-over exhaust.

Mopar engineering evolution perfection!

Just finished pretrip inspection on my borrowed trailer. Guy had the brakes wired all dicked up. Didnt work, shoes in wrong position on one side.. Fixed that, checked and added grease to all the hub bearings.. torgued all the lug nuts, adjusted tire pressures. Now to load up the ice chest, pack road munchies, inject ****** and be ready to roll. This is gonna be a long trip...
