Stop in for a cup of coffee

Enjoy! I'm enjoying a couple of cold ones here too before bedtime.

Although the work week begins tomorrow, a good friend reminded me once not the let the weekend end too soon...and remember that Sunday is still part of the weekend.

I'm with ya there. I'm enjoying a Toddy as we speak!

I just cooked up some sausage biscuits and made a nice pot of gravy. Should be set for beakfast for the week. It's a really bad idea to start cooking **** after you've had a few beverages!..

Well sounds like a good Sunday with extra rest for some of us. Up early tomorrow to go visit my Dad in GA and get him out of the nursing home for a while. Two cash offers on the house and they want to close soon. My sis has been handling all this, God bless her. When the sale closes it will be a huge relief.

Looking forward to the jaunt in a rental car, always enjoy sampling the new cars. Nice to drive but they all seem so disposable.

ok- today I could have slept in - whew, java do your thing.. looks like I am first in on the east coast... g'morning you all

I was reading and was going to say Good Morning and then run. But you beat me to it

Morning Mikey

Mornin' folks.

The corniches I put up yesterday were pre-painted in an off-white color. We will paint them over once with a whiter nuance. Just did the nail holes once before doing them all over. One layer should be enough.

After that, it's pre-glue the walls and then it's wallpaper time!

Pre-glu? I've used mostly pre glued paper that you dunk in water. Never put anything on the walls.

The wallpaper we use is called "easy-up" and you put them up by applying glue to the wall and then stick the wallpaper on it.

This works like charm and the wallpaper doesn't stretch because it is a non-woven base. Really easy to put up on your own.

The problem is that the walls have been covered with sand based putty. This soaks up too much of the glue and the wallpaper can fall off.

To overcome this, you can either paint the walls before you apply the glue or - and this is far cheaper - you simply apply a layer of glue first. When it dries, the surface is sealed and up goes the wallpaper. We were going to paint the walls but our painter gave us the glue tip.

Looks like a good sunny day here today as the rain moves out, high will hit 73 .. Waiting for this first cup to kick in.

Back in 05. The wife and I drove to Houston to visit our son that was in school there. Then we continued on to So Padre Is. Didn't realize how long that ride was from Houston to SPI until we did it. Could DEFINITELY see Mexico !

Did spring break at SPI one year. Took twin sisters with me. And no, it didn't work out that way. Bummer. Would have made a great story if it had!
