Stop in for a cup of coffee

I typically remember a stand out line or two.. even movies I have seen 3 or 4 times I don't remember the whole thing..
One of my favorite dumbass movies. My kids have most of it memorized. Does no good around tb6eir peers, but every now and then they slip one out that cracks you up..

Not worried I've had four concussions. No ear ringing or anything. I'll give it a little more time it's just starting to hurt and this happened around ten this morning.

So, If anything, it may have knocked some sense BACK INTO you.... :poke:

I need to hear some J Geils now that you mention it. I did get some killer rock out of Phoenix while i was travelling. .

I used to hang out with a girl from high school, in our group of friends, and she moved just after senior year to California...

Never heard from her again, then one day I see here in a 'girlie' magazine... It was definitely her...

It was like Deja Vu with the J. Giles "Centerfold" song coming true...

She did a little **** acting, but didn't climb to the top (so to speak...)...

Kids are amazing. Cant remember their times tables, but know every word in a thousand movies...

I use that against my daughter all the time when she says she can't remember something like a math rule.

I ask her the names of her dolls, movie characters and lines from movies. When she recites them flawlessly I point out that her memory is perfect and she's is just being lazy in not remembering other stuff. I tell her that she is effectively choosing "not" to remember the other things because she hasn't made it a priority to remember them.

Then I explain that the next time she tells me that she can't remember something important from school, I'm going to take away other stuff that's important to her and tell her that I can't remember where I put them. ;)

And he's not even old, fat and gray haired!!!

No, he's young with long hair (pony tail half way down his back...), his high school Jr year teacher told me that the other kids nicknamed him "Leonardo" because his face and eyes look like Leonardo Dicaprio... :toothy1:

He's shy around girls still... :glasses7:

When they are young, their minds are like sponges... they watch the same vidoes over and over and over and it sinks into their minds... :idea1:

I never got that stuff... once you've seen a movie, move on.. a couple are worth seeing again but for the most part.. nah. Jaws, The Shinning, Blues Brothers come to mind as extra view worthy..

Totally off the previous discussions, but last night I got a text from my friend who is renting my house in Memphis saying "We have a tornado warning, looks bad, fingers crossed."

Then I got nothing but radio silence after that. I texted him and tried calling a couple of times before falling asleep at 2 am.

I slept fitfully until he finally texted me back at 3:30 am saying the tornado missed them but they lost power for a few hours and his phone was out of charge so that's why he didn't reply. They were all safe but the roof was missing a few shingles and a couple of small leaks had started in the attic but he had buckets under them.

I don't have any pics yet, but it looks like it's time for a new roof based on his description later today. It's year 16 on a 15 year warranty builder roof, so we'll see if insurance will cover it or if it's out-of-pocket for me. Ugh!

I'm mostly just glad he and his family are safe.
