There is a real DD40 in Wyoming....I have been wanting to see it since I was younger but I dont know if it is still for public view.
DD 40s have an interesting history.
They were supposed to take the place of 2 units but proved to be too big to be practical

yeah that tends to happen, bigger isn't always better. If I recall right, i think there was only like 4 built, all to Union Pacific.

@halifaxhops That car you are looking at is a '65 Dodge Custom 880. The high body side molding and dash give it away. The emblem on the glove box is for the Custom 880.
hmmm looks identical to the polara though. what's the difference? badges?

The Monaco, 880 and Polara were of the same line that year. The main differences were in trim and options. Tail panel, side molding, badging and rear bumpers were among the differences.

That 880 also seems to have some high-end options too. AC, Optional 3 spoke steering wheel and power windows.
