Stop in for a cup of coffee

I always wondered why they never put a grid around the perimeter of windshields?
They do on some cars. On the Grand Caravan they have a small grid that goes across where the wipers lay and my 1989 Taurus had the full Insta-clear windshield that had a transparent copper tint across the whole thing that acted like a defroster. Push the button and watch the snow and ice melt!

Problem was how expensive it was if you needed to replace the windshield. At $900 for a replacement after a rock chip, it didn't take long for folks to stop buying the option.

It was great when it was new though. Now they have supplemental electric heaters in the defrost so you don't have to wait for the engine to warm up to clear the windshield. My 300 C has it and the ice starts melting in about 3 minutes. I hit the remote start when I'm upstairs putting my shoes on and by the time I get downstairs, grab my stuff and go out to the car, the windshield is melting the ice, the seats are warm with the seat heaters and the steering wheel is toasty with the wheel heater.

just looked at 74 schematic. Both defogger blower and defroster grid are there. the resistor for the blower is pictured between switch and blower, but so far see no indication of where it was physically located

There's a series on Netflix called plane restoration. The guy is restoring a p51 mustang from one that crashed in New Zealand in ww2, it's truly a work of art. Should watch it , its badass

The aircraft window de icing was kind of interesting a conductive polimer between two sheets of glass, they would heat up in seconds. They would also short out once in a while and get hot spots not good flying and the window cracks usually at the worst times, 30k per panel also but tell you what we took shots at a few old ones and the 30-06 just richochetted.

and I am all happy because my truck senses the temp and will run either the heat or the A/C during remote start/run depending...

Yep, the 300 C too. It also has the cooled seats so you never have to sit down on hot leather seats either!

Ummm...SRT8 Durango??

No such beast, SRT never did a Durango. Grand Cherokee SRT8 was the only SUV ever done.
Well she calls it her srt8, it's actually a limited that's fully loaded, previous owner stuck srt8 badges on
