IDK about you, but I'm always in a hurry to get there and not so much heading home. Once you have it all towing behind you, the urgency subsides and it's more about enjoying the ride and savoring the anticipation of what the future holds once you are home.
To me , it's the anticipation that makes me drive home faster

Nah, it's just money moving around like it always has. The retail box stores will just re-invent themselves and adapt to what consumers want. It's not like the money being spent dries up...it just shifts to a new paradigm of how people get their goods and services. Those businesses that get it survive and thrive, those that don't go away. But no less groceries and merchandise are being bought by consumers than their were before...just in a new way.

No, they are just trimming back, closing 150 stores. Over 1300 will remain open.
They sold off the Craftsman brand to Stanley B&D but will keep selling it in their stores under license.
Sears is trying to reinvent themselves to be relevant in the new consumer paradigm. Whether they are successful at it remains to be seen, but their demise isn't imminent.

Disable your car so it won't start. Make it hard to steal. If they get it over the Mexican border, you'll never see it again...
We did a road trip to El Paso once, and the mechanics made sure that our prototype cars would not start. If they got over the border, the red tape to get them back is more trouble than building another car to test...
