Dam I did not catch that Good to hear everyone is OK. how close?
I was trying to post right before it hit. No warning whatsoever, went from a light sprinkle to full on hell and turned green sky instantly. The main path appears to be about 1/2 mile north of me. We got the side drafts. Roughly 80 mph winds or more.
Well that's good news. You need to build an underground tornado shelter into your next house.
That was already in the plans
Glad you're all ok....

The damage can be fixed....
Yeah kind of bummed it didn't take my jeep but put a trampoline on top of it.

Sirens sounded 20 minutes after it hit....

Cell towers have back up power in batteries and generators. It's actually part of the national disaster plan that they do.
Hmm didn't know that. Sucks trying to pack for a weekend on guard duty in the dark though lol.

I am sure if you make the call they will excuse you, hell they might be going there to help out! You have no idea what needs to be done till sunrise, If they do not give it to you run as fast as you can from that unit!!!!!

I'd call my CO if I felt I needed too. She'd approve it. I just came back in, I've got a 650,000 candlelight spot light, house survived with no damage , the yard not so much but that can wait, trampoline off the jeep already, no idea where it came from , cracked windshield, few dings and dings, Durango seemed to make it thru unscathed. We just got kissed by the southern edge of it, farther north you go, the worse it is. Still no power and if they can't clear the roads by 5 am, I'll have no choice. I can't go south right now because the road is closed due to the bridge being under construction. So well see

Just stay home and put the tramp back on the jeep and take pics. You have to call the CO not your supervisor to take off in a emergency?

No, I'm a unique case. I report directly to the CO/1st Sgt. Top is out for training so the CO would make the call. Now on paper, I'm in a platoon. But that platoon is made up of officers for the battalion. It's truly a unique set up

Just great. Power just went out and now I hear sirens. Some fool must have taken out a pole with their car.

At least the beer is cold and the pizza just arrived. Dinner by flashlight it seems.

Uh oh, power came back on for a minute and then back out again. Now a new set of Sirens are going. I hope the first responders didn't get themselves into trouble trying to clear the wreck.

Well, the power is back on now. Just in time for bed. I wasn't worried about being without it overnight, but it's supposed to be a high of 87 tomorrow and I wasn't looking forward to not having AC for that.

Now I can go to sleep and not worry about it. :)

I had papa John's pizza last night they are only pizza place open till 3 a.m. and will deliver to my friends house which is closer to the city. They won't deliver to my house because it's too far out in the sticks

My Pastors Son, called me last week, with a car problem. 94 Honda Civic. Said his brakes were going halfway to the floor. He said he thought he had a ruptured line. I told him to bring over slowly one day and I'd look at it. Didn't hear from him until yesterday. He called me around 1pm and said he couldn't get the hood open to check the brake fluid. Release handle frozen tight. He says he's gonna drive it over so I can get the hood open, and check for ruptured lines. Never saw him. 5pm, I go in for dinner. 7pm his Wife text's me and says, the brakes failed completely on him , on his way here. Apparently he drove off the road to avoid road workers in an asphalt construction zone, near my place. Dead center into a tree, Totaled the car. Wife says , he's at Shock Trauma, with a broken sternum, 7 broken ribs and a bruised lung.. He's still in the Hospital, but doing better. Great guy too, been on a few Mission Trips with me to Africa. Y'all Pray for his healing !!!
Christ! If it were me, I'd feel pretty guilty. Sounds like the damage isn't TOO serious, thankfully.
I'm not into praying but you're both in my thoughts.
