Stop in for a cup of coffee

Yeah problem is getting wifey to back me. If not, things at home become unpleasant. Right now she wants to ride it out a bit since the dude her sister was having and affair with just died a couple weeks back.
I wouldn't be too quick to make calls. Just stay in it and figure out what is really going on first.
If you do make the call - decide what you and the wife are willing to do for the kids first. If the authorities say they can't live with parents, are you able to take them in? (financially or otherwise) Maybe get the parents to pay you costs to do so (friendly or legally)...

Something to think about.
The situation may or may not be as bad as it seems.
While there are certainly issues from other things you have told us... Don't assume that you are getting the full story from the kids. Maybe they are provided food, just not what they want. I'm sure the parents eat, so the kids are likely provided something to eat. just maybe not a 'cooked' meal. Maybe a frozen pizza vs. ordered...
When my son was little we had child svc show up. No big deal, just had to explain a situation and they realized there was no real problem. But I had to come home from work and give a statement cause somebody was minding our business.
My son told someone (school nurse I think) that I 'threw him over the gate' Without getting details they reported it. What actually happened? He frequently got into 'situations' at night while we slept. So, we put a child doorway 'gate' on his room. One night he had climbed over it and was sleeping on the floor in the hall. I got up to get ready for work, and to avoid stepping on him I picked him up and set him in his room over the gate. Don't know if it was from when he climbed out or him kicking a little when I move him, but he got a scratch -which someone at school saw and asked him about.
That's exactly why I've been keeping my mouth shut as I have. We'll see how things progress

it's been talked about

So some good news. If I'm reading this correctly, I can use the 73-76 disc brakes and spindles in the 64 polara. I happen to have a set laying around here. So I think if I can't get the hubs/ drums to free up on the polara, I'll try popping the spindles off and putting the a body ones on for now

To move it?

If I get that for say 70 easy turnover for it 175 or so at Carlisle.
I think you're right. Just took a look at what people asked for, and posted as 'sold' on FABO. A lot more than when I last bought.
And I may also be wrong on it being clutcher, but it looks like cone types are just as sought after going by the $$$ asked.
with diff [SOLD] - 3.23 cone posi, 488/489 case
cone style - newish
[SOLD] - Sure grip

edit: I see you're way ahead of me! :)
averaging 250 on flea bay sold.

As long as they are good. There is a how to thread here for reconditioning them by RRR.

Just indo the spindle nut and take the whole drum assy off! Your crazy doing that in the cold. Why not a flatbed? To me it would be worth it.
I've tried taking the whole assembly off. It won't budge...... I even heated it and hit it with a 20 pound sledge.

And it is a flat bed trailer. But dragging it up the ramps isn't happening.

No a real flatbed on a truck, man they can drag any wreck up on them.
Did you snip the break hold down pins off and take the spindle not off? I don't care how much it is rusted it will come off then. Think Dave mentioned that also.

Yep. And a real flat bed they want 450 bucks to move it not even 5 miles

I have abused no wait used them in the past, great deal with two kids and a wife driving!

Keefer you remember the wait time before you use it? Think towing and gas you had to be a member for a few months? Really not sure but that can be a way to go Chris!

Definitly got my moneys worth wen I was a member. I dropped it after we got newer, dependable cars. Have tow coverage on my insurance anyway if I need it.

No, But pretty sure it is delayed. Just find a friend that has it and get them to say they were driving when it broke down.
