Stop in for a cup of coffee

same kind of thing here - but the people who fix it work here and there are only just so many of them.. when they start answering back "put it on the list"... and the customer is insisting that something be done NOW - - the proverbial chit hits the fan
My job is kinda nice that way. We do adjustments etc for HVAC. But, in house maint mechanics are busy with production equipment. Service/real problems with building systems are mostly done by outside contractors. So, most of those complaints end with my boss making a phone call.

one of the toughest things for us is that there are so many buildings here - this one is a JCI (Johnson Controls) building, that one is steam feed, and the next one has elec. split systems - we spend a good deal of time and energy trying to remember which building has what - and then "they" retro-fit the old buildings with new systems.. so what you knew to be true last year is suddenly totally wrong this year.. such fun :BangHead:

So, your staff handles HVAC issues for them? Johnson Controls is the contractor that comes in for our chillers. LOL

no - JCI installed the systems and we "own" them afterward (usually 1 year of contractor support) - all of our Controls Techs are trained to handle the JCI systems

OK, that makes more sense. About the same here, but they don't want us 'wasting time' on non-production, so we use them for service too. If it's not a quick fix, or involves Freon, we pass it off to them.

Hey Hey, got my intake. It took a month but worth it. It's in nice shape and worth the money.

So, actually, that is EXACTLY what happened to us. New controls were supposed to work the same. Yep. Uh huh. As I understand it, someone put some new commands in the PLC program at a different spot and did not remove similar somewhere else. So things were not hitting in correct order and system was saying :wtf:.
