Coal just came!!!!! That's a big relief no more lugging bags around.
I know. This one is offered thru Humana and is like 11 bucks a month. $50,000 in total coverages. Had to do a health screening years ago for it.Not the automatic one, this you have to pay for it out of pocket. The guard offered AIG in NY, CA, and PA. You would know if you have it you had to fill out a application and a form for direct withdrawl. You pay every month for it. If you get out of the guard it still has to be paid for monthly.
Yeah, that's one thing I do need to look at. I've got a nice policy thru my employer but I'd like to get something like a whole life policy. But man are they $$$$. Last I looked at one, it was gonna be 170 bucks for 100,000 in coverage, for a non smoker/low risk (prior to my seizure) individualHey something else you loose when you get out is the life insurance, might want to look into that before you get a diagnosis, then you might be non insurable,
I have both Short term and Long term thru work as well. short term is like 90% salary for 6 months, Long term is like 75% for up to 36 months. i think I pay maybe 7 bucks a piece for them.Term also has its uses, but whole life is also a investment that gains cash value. See if the carrier through the employer can do disability also. You really need to get that one.
Don't get Universal life. I paid $50 a month for decades and all of a sudden I get a letter from the insurance company that the cost of insurance has gone up and the excess of your premiums has been paid by your cash value. You now owe us $600+ to continue your coverage and $150 a month. What a bunch of BS!Term also has its uses, but whole life is also a investment that gains cash value. Yeah, I used to be licensed to sell those. Never would. You have to have a SEC 67/66 license to sell those as they are funded in part by the stock market and is considered an investment. But they are risky as hell as exactly what happened to you, happens a lot. Which is why the government now requires a broker license to even sell them. And most insurance companies now a days are backing away from them as a result. They were pushed heavily in the 80s and early 90s as a great big thing.Don't get Universal life. Doing a pre-arrangement for your funeral isn't a bad idea either. (if you're worried about your heirs not having enough to bury you)I got into an argument with a 73 year old lady when i was selling insurance. She came in wanting 450,000 dollars in coverage, only thing i could even offer her was a 5 yr term. monthly cost...... 3700 dollars!! Naturally she didn't buy it but she went off on me(i was the last of several agents this lady had tried to get insurance from come to find out, and i was still the cheapest.....) The cheapest I remember being able to get her was a final expense policy, which is permanent insurance until age 100, of just 15,000. But it was still over 100 bucks a month. She didnt buy it either. She was not a happy camper and even threatened an age discrimination law suit.
my advice to you guys, get a policy before age 65 if you want one that is remotely affordable, even if its just a final expense policy.
The impact of global warming I'm sure."On New Year's Day, 90% of the US failed to warm up to 32 degrees, CNN meteorologist Ivan Cabrera said."
