Stop in for a cup of coffee

So, in other COFFEE thread related discussions, I was going over the wiring harness I made and I think I know the problem. I wired it backwards :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead: I had the positive coming out of the ballast resistor going to the negative side of the coil instead of the positive. Which means it probably wasn't charging the distributor with enough juice to make the spark. :BangHead: Gonna have to switch those leads and see what happens.

The negative side is always the distributor side of the coil.

this thing has an accel super coil in it, I hope i didn't burn it up :BangHead:

100 year anniversary of the John Deere Tractor. The tractor works is here in Waterloo. Deere bought the Waterloo Gasoline Engine Company back in 1918 and began producing the "Waterloo Boy".

My son is obsessed with john deere tractors. There's a cool kids mini series on Amazon prime about the entire history of john deere, but made for kids so its actually entertaining. My son watched that over and over. and over.

The photos are from the Museum downtown. Great history here.

honestly, the model 60 being points is why i want to experiment with points on the polara as well. Understanding the system so I can make that model 60 hum. the engine has barely 2 hours on it since rebuild, brand new carb. Just can't get the spark right.

Except for positive ground electrical systems. Then they are reversed.
oh snap... I'm such an idiot. The model 60 is a positive ground. No wonder that spark is too weak to run it, I have the coil backwards yet again I bet.

LOL Wait a second. Were we originally talking about a John Deere 60 or your car? Shame on me for not backreading!

now you see why i hate electrical crap. I don't do it well. Nor understand it well.
Just dropped by body shop, young grasshopper was replacing engine bay wiring harness. Asked him why battery was still connected. Went and shook finger at his boss. Then went back and coached him on connector etiquette...he feels smarter now.had to demonstrate fuse panel removal.

all looks like a maze to me.
Some shop manuals describe the way the circuitry is laid out, like what all the icons represent, usually a prefix to the wiring diagam itself. Take the time to study it and it should start to make sense. Unlike the flow charts in the late 80’s early 90’s.

So you’re getting all your news here? We could have some fun with this ...

So do electrons. But in the end they take the path of least resistance
nope. I'm serious, only "news" ive seen on here in the death of Hawkings.
