Stop in for a cup of coffee

Gas is for forced air heating . This new pit almost has enough adjustment in it to burn wood. Big lump charcoal seems to work well. Red oak around here is getting mighty expensive. $10 for a 40 lbs. bag of mesquite suits me jusssst fine. I did find a source for red oak bark and chips, makes the best smoke, use charcoal for the heat. Tri Tips are on sale, but the ground beast is already thawed.

Gee, that was fun. 1 hr and 47 min commute home. Lots of folks out there were playing full contact driving. 7 rear enders and sideswipes along the way.
I think its that time of year, or the moon, or something.
Were you out by KoP again?

Yep, commuting home from KoP. People are definitely losing their minds. One guy jumped out on the shoulder to pass everyone and went for an open spot to get back in line and completely didn’t see the disabled car on the shoulder 40’ before the opening he was eyeing. Plowed right into the back of the disabled car at 35 mph. Never even hit his brakes.

I just figured out where the common sense came from. Beer Night Dodger Stadium 1970sumthin. I was a teenager, went with some friends, great field level seats, beautiful summer evening in the LA Basin. I'm looking around the stadium between innings, checking out the "scenery", I look up to the upper deck, an alleged fan participating more in the beer than the game has another fan by the shirt collar leaning over the upper deck railing just pounding the tar out of the other fan. :realcrazy::realcrazy::realcrazy: Last Beer Night with the Dodgers I ever did.

That’s an ‘Oh F**K’ moment for sure :steering:

Time to get the fire lit and have an adult beverage  KCRP will just have to do without me tonight. World of Outlaws will be over there next weekend, or 2 weekends after that is another winged sprint show. Have a grand evening.

People drive stupid nowdays.

Yep.. Drunk idiots are even worse than the regular kind. I wish i was the regular kind..

I need a drink. (or I think I do). What shall I have? I brought some home brew to Stoners yesterday and everybody enjoyed it. I stopped back today to drop off a tool box and had a few Blue Moon's. Not bad but I really enjoy the home brew better. May-be I'll have some Orange Shandy. I have a lot to drink. I have a few sips of moonshine left but it's a 2 hour drive to get more. I better save those last few drops.

I had a sudden attack of common sense  scary. The big asphalt circle track over the hill has an event tonight, NASCAR Late Models. To make it even better, it's Beer Night! I just found about this event this morning. Common sense told me to stay home and BBQ. I don't need to be driving back in the middle of the night with bad weather closing fast. BBQ on!

Asphalt??? Santa Maria Speedway was a 1/3 mile clay oval when we ran Sprints there.

I just got home from a 3 hour drive with the same problem. Bright sunny and dry and watched 3 wrecks happen. One involved a Porsche Cayman with paper plates dated yesterday. Went under the back of a big Chevy SUV. I was right behind the Porsche when it happened

When the tri tip is on, I can smell it from Florida! I WILL be on a plane you can count on that.

I miss the Dodger games. Best night I had there was watching Fernando Valenzuela belt a home run nearly out of the park. Incredible slugger for a pitcher. They used to intentionally walk him!!

Only thing I remember from baseball growing up was the Sammy Sosa and Mark Mcquire homerun battle. Too bad they'd later both be busted for steroids.

That ruined baseball for me and was when I quit watching. I never went back. We all knew they were using before they got caught. The before and after pictures told the story.

Yep. Did they ever strip them of their records?

I remember listening to the Phillies games on the AM car radio back in the early 70s with my Dad. We would be out in the backyard working on stuff and he would roll down the windows on the car parked in the driveway and put the game on so we could hear it while working. He was a huge baseball fan.

I paid attention when my kid was playing.. Almost no interest since he hung up the cleats.

Yeah, the love of the game never really stuck on me. It is really just the association with those days as a kid that makes me watch a game or two, now and again.
