And I thought I was young at 50, but that's just how my retirement system is. Of course I retired and volunteered for a deployment, but only because the wife's Army Guard unit had been deployed. Didn't feel like being retired and sitting around for a year by myself.Can't remember when I had three years to go to retire...Cause I was only 41 at that time......

Guess i could start collecting pension at 55. That would be in june. $3.49 wont buy much.

Yup WTF am I doing with all these kids!
No reason to be....Was just in the right places at the right time , a few times in my young life...Then worked really hard to make it all work for the best...God is Good, all the time......
Babysitting?
We were based in Qatar. I had teams at the major Air Bases in Iraq and Afghanistan, and a Navy ship.
I made the rounds checking on them and the air units they supported.
It was good living as Army guys working for the Air Force and Navy.
We briefed pilots supporting the Army operations explaining what the Army was doing and what to expect they'd see on the ground.
Hell yes and not even a Chucky Cheese to drop them off to!
Make sure you try and get that 20 with the Army Guard. I can tell you the free medical and $50 a month dental for the wife and I is NICE!!

Don't you get Tricare?? There are some out of pocket deductibles for family policy. Its minimal compared to the civilian market.
If you have VA, you can get medical services including prescriptions based on your % of disability.
