Oh yeah, update on the Orland Square Mall shooting...

They caught the shooter and he's in jail now...

University Park man arrested in Orland Park mall fatal shooting

Orland Park police said Wednesday they have a man in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Rich Central High School senior at Orland Square Mall.

Members of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force arrested 20-year-old Jakharr Williams in Matteson without incident, according to Orland Park Police Chief Tim McCarthy.

McCarthy said Williams, of University Park, will be held by Orland Park police until charges can be approved by the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.

Williams was being sought in connection with Monday’s shooting at the mall of Javon Britten, of Richton Park.

Police had obtained what is called a temporary homicide warrant in their hunt for Williams, McCarthy said.

Williams is suspected of shooting to death Britten near the mall’s food court Monday evening.

Britten was pronounced dead at an area hospital following the shooting Monday evening at the mall, northeast of LaGrange Road and 151st Street. His family has also called on Williams to turn himself in.

Police said that Britten and Williams knew each other, and that the shooting followed a confrontation between the two at the mall. Britten died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Freaky! As we have discussed previously my grand father built that mall.

Well sure you are enjoying the sunshine. Nothing but cold and snow here.

Just got back from a long day out to SaDec East, about 25 clicks on a Motorbike.....Nice day at the Park there

Well that sounds a lot nicer than the four driveways I cleared.
My buddy goes to Palm Springs every winter and I always have an invite.
Never gone because I don't want to spend a dime in CA.
Might have to reconsider if this white stuff continues.

We are having what up here is called a ground blizzard. The wind is so strong and there is so much cold dry snow visibility is about the hood of your truck. The snow acts much like the sand was in the desert, landscape ever changing with drifts instead of dunes. It is weird. And it is just under zero for temp. I think Palm Springs looks pretty good from here.

And good morning. Chatty bunch this AM, although several went back to bed now as it sounds.

Food plant SST welding and millwright. Been there done that on oil patch. The good money is in the SST not black iron. Of course there is good money period with welding regardless of venue. Oil patch is to sketchy tied to price of crude. My opinion only, there are about a zillion guys who would disagree.

Ya all I know about oil is what I read. It seems to be up then down so kinda unstable. Sure it was a boom for many poor areas up there, not to mention the family farm where oil was found.

My brother work in oil business in Alaska. Work follows the cost of a barrel of crude. Price goes up, everyone is fat and happy. Price goes down and people laid off. Roller coaster for sure.

I have a friend who does great things with metal and a welder.
He did this hood shroud for my 55.
One piece no visible bolts.
It does look better than the picture.

That'd be a tough life.
