Stop in for a cup of coffee

The tooth pain is down to a dull roar now. The Oral Surgeon’s office contacted me today to schedule the extraction. I told them that I would call them back tomorrow to schedule.

I’ve had enough tooth trauma this week. I need to let it settle down for a bit before I go in for another procedure. The endontist said I have 4-6 weeks to get it extracted before the temporary repair may break down. Im taking at least a week off from another dental procedure...maybe two.

Good to hear, Dave, that you are coping. I know no one will be more relieved than you, when it's all behind you!

You know in response to your other thread, We WERE set with 2 pensions, 2 SS accounts maxed out, a smallish 401k, over a million in real estate paid for, BUT now 5 Kids has screwed us up! So who the hell knows.....
Like always, the future in uncertain...but we plan as best we can.

But there are also always options to make a better way...even if it doesn’t include everything we want to keep.

I still have a pot to piss in. As long as some insurance guy doesn't try to take that away.

AND AT&T stole my 25 year pension! Changed a monthly payment to a one time lame *** payout!!! I had no say....

I gotta say, being under orders NOT to work is refreshing!

The HR lady explained I have a responsibility to give them periodic updates. She and my boss have a form from my surgeon that says my estimated return to work is Feb. 17. I emailed them my "update #1" just now. I enjoyed composing it with just the right "good employee" tone without saying anything to the effect that I want to come back sooner! We'll see about that later. :)

Still have the real estate, but a small mortgage on one piece...I just hope we dont have to dig deeper into those assets before retirement..

Turd...

just got back from work and getting settled in....

No time to back read... I need sleep so I can wake up tomorrow and do the same rat race all over again...

33.5 hours so far this week....

Second and it just started raining, ZZZzzzz.....
Ok it is 0400 hrs and I am not first? Super tough day at work yesterday as big boss flew in and we had to let one of my favorite guys go. The decision was not unwarranted yet still difficult. I mean I taught his daughter how to shoot shotgun etc. tuff day. Sure appreciate this Forum as essentially it becomes a safety valve for emotions on occasions. I could not sleep as a result of yesterday so went ahead and came to work. We operate around the clock so that helps. I will spend day doing damage control with my staff as he was well liked by all. Big boss was onsite for about three hours only so that is a plus!

Oh yeah, update on the Orland Square Mall shooting...

They caught the shooter and he's in jail now...

University Park man arrested in Orland Park mall fatal shooting

Orland Park police said Wednesday they have a man in custody in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Rich Central High School senior at Orland Square Mall.

Members of the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force arrested 20-year-old Jakharr Williams in Matteson without incident, according to Orland Park Police Chief Tim McCarthy.

McCarthy said Williams, of University Park, will be held by Orland Park police until charges can be approved by the Cook County state’s attorney’s office.

Williams was being sought in connection with Monday’s shooting at the mall of Javon Britten, of Richton Park.

Police had obtained what is called a temporary homicide warrant in their hunt for Williams, McCarthy said.

Williams is suspected of shooting to death Britten near the mall’s food court Monday evening.

Britten was pronounced dead at an area hospital following the shooting Monday evening at the mall, northeast of LaGrange Road and 151st Street. His family has also called on Williams to turn himself in.

Police said that Britten and Williams knew each other, and that the shooting followed a confrontation between the two at the mall. Britten died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
