Stop in for a cup of coffee

Thanks SBC 400 all chromed out with an old B&H air cleaner. Its fun!!
While I am clearly Mopar or no car it never stops me from appreciating craftsmanship and beauty in machines or equipment. As a metal thrasher I just like nice work, and that car, Chevy or not is beautiful.

This summer I saw one of the finest displays of custom metal work I had seen in a long time. It was a studebaker with a LS stuffed in it. The more I looked at it the more I saw. The guy left nothing untouched. It was super subtle and very well done. In a total act of betrayal I voted it best in show. Been a long time when I did not vote for a Mopar as best in show. It was just that well done.

Nothing better than a well built car. I enjoy car shows and really enjoy when I find cars like those.

I thought about dropping an LS in mine a couple years ago. But as we went to bigger Chevy shows we'd see seemed like most all the Tri-5's had LS engines with tan interior.
Yep next time you see a bunch of Tri-5's count how many tan interior's you see. We decided we wanted to be a little different and kept the SBC400. Had the shroud made, got the B&H air cleaner, and a couple other things and very happy.

Everything is LS swapped these days, that or 3rd gen Hemi swapped. Those rides are cool in their own right but i have started to walk right by those rides a lot more these days

I agree like they just all the same. Hard for me to drop 25-30K for an LS/Hemi engine.

Good morning, coffee and conversation is good as usual but stomach is growling and that old Florida cookbook has a recipe for "doughnut muffins" that looks super easy so I'll be back....

With our 55 we try to keep the old school look. I call it Old ScKool.:D Can't do that in my opinion with an LS engine.
Besides what's not to like.....SBC 400, custom interior see the 55 and Chevy embordered, mini tubed with 29x12.5 15 Pro streets and Cragar wheels.

Good Morning All! I spent a good part of yesterday trying to splice fiber (in shop for advancement). Picky frickin fuser, fiber too dusty, fiber too long, fiber cleave angle too large. Ugh! I actually got it to "weld" twice, once was a high loss and once the fiber burned in two. Need to do this more often, takes practice for me anyway.

I really like your 55 there, saweet! My father bought one from the local gas station in Creswell Oregon many years ago. Original turquoise paint and the slant 6. He was going to give it to me, Mom got nervous when I screwed up and mentioned a 350 and the car was sold. My Dad paid $50 for that car, very little rust, think only on the drivers floorboard/rocker. Everything there from the Jet to the dash, good runner/driver. Oh well!

Well that sounds a lot nicer than the four driveways I cleared.
My buddy goes to Palm Springs every winter and I always have an invite.
Never gone because I don't want to spend a dime in CA.
Might have to reconsider if this white stuff continues.
My nephew lives in palm springs. If you watch the credits in avatar, and swordish he does digital special effects. Chris Bond. Smart man. He and a couple others started frantic films and then sold to prime focus, and he still works for them.

Temp went back down to Brrrr...
A little snow,mostly drifting.
Wind is nasty.

He has been lucky so far. He also is the Tool and Equipment Manager based in Anchorage versus actually up on the slope working in the oil fields too
Alaska sure its beautiful, but too much snow and winter for me!!

Hey Mike. Saw the weather for your area. Three storms one after the other for today and tomorrow...sucks!!
