So this week I'm gonna try the full on rebuild on the polara's front suspension. In previous goes, I always sprung for the rebuilt LCAs, this time though, I'm gonna rebuild them myself. Been watching the clips on how to do it, seems pretty straight forward. Anyone have any last minute tips?

I was just thinking. Would an electric heat gun expand the arm enough to allow the bushing to enter more easily without damaging the new bushing?

My head guy uses dry ice to cool the valve seats to shrink them a little to make them easier to press in...

That's a good idea, heat the hole and cool the shaft to make it easier to press in.... (That's what she said.... )

Far as adaptors... I usually just hunt around shop for something to work.. sometimes pieces of pipe..

I'm a fan of using heat to a modest amount to assist press type situations. We were disassembling a big cone crusher to replace liners. The bowl and liner screw into the frame, keeping in mind that it's about 5' inside diameter. When things are good it will unscrew with a crane taking some of the weight and a 2 1/2T come-along. This one not so much, crane and a 988 Cat loader and cable to unscrew it, nothing. 4 propane burners for about 3 hours and try it again and it moves grudgingly. Get it unscrewed and start looking around in there I find a 1/2"nc nut sitting in the female threads with scrape marks that was impeding our progress. It had fallen in during a previous adjustment and was locking the bowl to the frame, one little nut . At one time we had the 988 and a Cat rock truck pulling at the same time and it would not move

Wow its humid out! I just widened out the mulch rings around 4 little trees with a garden hoe (she was a big help, lol) and I am soaked in sweat. Now back out to do the mulching...
