Idle air control. It's right on the side of the throttle bodyIAC ?

Hey I am going to pose a question and then head to bed and see if I have an answer tomorrow. Keith may be the one to answer. I have a Dodge Neon that started to rev up when in park. ANd at times surges. It has gotten to the point that it will take me down the road at 55-60 without touching the tgas pedal. There are no codes and no vacuum leaks that I can find. Is it Fuel sensor? Cam sensor? or something else?
I think it's gonna take me a French Dip to catch up on the reading. So I better go get one![]()

I sent Rani some nude selfies.. She sent them back!
Were they critiqued?

OK, so...Hey I am going to pose a question and then head to bed and see if I have an answer tomorrow. Keith may be the one to answer. I have a Dodge Neon that started to rev up when in park. My first thought was throttle position sensor. But your not moving the throttle.
Well it aint Monday anymore!Morning?????? or is it just after midnight?
Well admitting makes it easier...Guess better than soft balls?

I just replaced tps on a ram for high idle.OK, so...
Cam sensor would almost definitely give a code.
My first thought was throttle position sensor. But your not moving the throttle. IIRC it has a spring return. So, I suppose if that failed it could go nuts and do whatever. But I believe they more commonly fail by not giving you anything vs too much.
IAC can definitely give a surge. I don't know about idling at highway speed though. It's just a small opening that bypasses the closed throttle plate to give air during idle.
There's a speed sensor - somewhere. Not sure what it's 'normal failures' are.

I would think a code reader would get you in the right direction?I just replaced tps on a ram for high idle.
Can get about 2 grand out of iac.OK, so...

Scan tool. It will tell tell you what degree its at, its likely out of range/dirty.I would think a code reader would get you in the right direction?
