Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good Morning. 9°F this AM. Cold in the house when I woke up. Light didn't turn on so I started looking around and the 2 street lights we have in my little community are out, the Church and all houses are dark. Explains it. No power for several hours. Had a nice candle lit breakfast, then washed face with cold bottled water. Power just came back on when I was leaving for work, so I went back in to make sure everything came on correctly and nothing was unexpectedly left turned on.
 
Now thinking of power outages, especially in cold weather, what size whole house generator would be needed for a well, propane forced air furnace and some lights? Any recommendations? Generac seems to be popular here.
 
Really depends on what you run all the time, water heater is it electric, freezers etc. Think there is a calculator out there. Prob be able to figure it out with your daily electric bill. Generac are big around here.
 
Son flew home last night. Being so cold and sitting for a month, his truck wouldnt start. Had to borrow a battery,took him about 3 hours to get home from airport, about 1-1/2 hours usually. Bet he wasnt happy last night.
 
Just on Generac's website. There is a calculator. Based on my selections, 16-22kw is needed. So, about $6K including installation estimate.

Think if i was setting up for a genset, i would seperate critical systems,to keep the necessary stuff running. As it is, i run a cord in to keep pellet stove running. Inverter in my truck.
Thinking about a bigger inverter. Or a second one at the very least.
 
I have a 4K invereter in the shop. Have not used iyt in a while had it in the rv for a while.
 
Was reading up on master cylinders, pt master is 15/16, jeep commonly used is 1”. the dodge pickup i got rear diff from is 1-1/8 i think.
I dont recall the fargo, but i know its at least 1-1/8”. Single port.
So single port divided between 4 wheels compared to dual port, smaller bore, i should have plenty of pressure as well as available volume. Think i will re-adjust brakes and bleed again. may need to add residual valves.
 
Good morning Keith, I looked high and low for my starter bolts and nuts yesterday and can't find them, then two old friends show up with a motorcycle tank they needed painted for a birthday gift, my shop was warm and I had the guns and paint supplies to get it done in sea scape blue, looks like tercous blue, hopefully I can buy the bolts and nuts I need for my la 360 starter.

yep, I seen the top stud and lower nut and bolt seems like a few weeks ago, but I am worried that my son moved them and thought it was for his Ford, sold the Ford truck and they may have went with it :wtf::bs_flag::BangHead:
 

Coffee in garage tastes better. I dont know why. Pellet stove stayed running, so its nice in there this morning.
think i will pull front wheels and revisit the brakes today. I may just wait until i get some residual valves. No, going to dial them in first. I know fronts need adjusting at the very least.
 
When i do get to the end of this truck, Barracuda is next. Paint engine bay and drop in the 318. Get it moving and then forward with bodywork.
