So this little beauty jumped in the truck this afternoon. Chambered in 38-55. Not as sexy as Jaws new rig but heh it is still sexy!

38/55 Hmmmm That should be pretty stout little round 
if they used the same sort of nomenclature as 45/70 or 44/40. Can't say that I ever saw any data on that one.

You are correct, case is just over two inch long developed for Ballard match rifles back in the day. I managed to win long range rifle title this year but I felt grossly under gunned and the boys were nipping my heals. They are already talking smack about taking me down next year so thought I best make a equipment change. This gains me realistic 200 yards extra relatively flat. Treachery and deceit can only get ya so far. I am out of both, the boys are gunning for me next year. They may dethrone me but I am darn sure gonna make em earn it!38/55 Hmmmm That should be pretty stout little round

A one time whack like that would not surprise me at all once other transit options could handle everyone. At least for fuel burners.

Not required.can run any tires we want. My preference is non studded winter tires.Right at freezing. Light snow, but nothing accumulating
I forget if I asked this- are you reqired to run snow tires or are all season ok?

Every state has their way of eeking out money from you. It might get called a tax, fee, levy, surcharge...whatever but it's there.
Yeah but certain states take it much further. California, Illinois, New York, etc
I will say this, I don’t know if Illinois is still doing it, but they were for a while doing registrations and plates that didn’t expire unless your sold the vehicle. Not sure if that’s still true or not

There are two Maryland's... 95 Corridor (B-more, Annapolis, DC) and then everywhere else
You have “taxes” like income and property and such. But what that link you show doesn’t show us all the additional “taxes” that are infact fees. Add those in and it really gets crazy. It’s why my company is expanding outside of California. And I foresee a majority of the operation leaving California in the next few years.I wouldn't conflate taxes with regulation. So avalanche was fogging the windows, the fresh air control was wonky. I could command the door with the scan tool, but it would reset back to recirc. Set it to fresh air and unplugged motor. Fixed! As cold as it was today, heat was excellent.
I don't diaagree on the point of flawed data. For my give-a-**** meter I fall back on the fact that the officials and referendums that legislate those burdens are elected by the residents... otherwise, vote.with your feet I guess.

To be honest, I’ve been looking at the data heavily, down to even looking cost of specific items we buy routinely compared to other states. I’m starting to just want to leave Indiana. Trying to find a state similar enough to make the transition a bit easier. I’d love to go to say Florida, but I do that and sure, my salary doubles, but so does my house payment and the groceries triple
Yeah... can't do Florida. Humidity kills me...
And again, trade- off... no state income tax but property taxes are high...
