I was actually thinking pipelines could be a good thing to relieve flood areas like John was recently saying they have up North during heavy melting. Problem is they would keep going when there was not enough water and end up draining needed water at other times.

Woke up late. Just finishing first cup. Time for the next 'not fun' thing that jumped immediatly to the top of my to-do list. Wife noticed it's getting wet around the toilet. Gotta figure out where its coming from. The toilet is about the only thing I wasn't replacing. Now I will likely be changing the seal twice cause I still plan to do laminate floor within next few months.

The problem isn’t lack of pipelines or water. It’s the fact that the west coast simply has too many people for the resources. I remember being shocked when my college geology instructor stated that if we diverted 100 percent of the Mississippi River to LA, and didnt get any rain or snow, that LA alone would drain the Mississippi dry within a years time

Just hate doing things twice...
Actually the current plan is go ahead and do the floor this weekend. Might still need to pull toilet out of the way to do the shower later, but at least some of the final plan is getting done. I will lay floor back to front from right to left, so last boards end up in front of sink vanity and tub and can be changed easily if needed when we get new stuff.

Santa Barbara our county seat had a de-sal plant they built many years ago and never used it. They took it apart and sold it to someone else . Of course the reservoir that supplies most of their water barely has enough water to support tadpoles now . All the recyclable plastic bottles would plug up the de-sal water intakes every 5 minutes anyway

I see water as a natural resource like any other. If an area has more of it than needed, they should be able to sell or trade for other resources they have less of. Problem is someone gets greedy. Profit outweigh intelligence. And before you know it, the area that had extra is in a drought, people receiving it are overcharged, and someone in the middle got rich.
