Those 500 Caddys were really overlooked in the performance category. There was a lot there to play with and at low cost in the neighborhood salvage yard

Yes they were. Guy I worked for put one in a Jeep pickup. Man that thing could pull anything!

I remember seeing in National Dragster long ago a fella was abusing one in a SC dragster and having success with it. He had a business trying to get them out there in the hot rod world with accessories.
