Stationed in Korea, liquor was rationed. Our platoon would do a big party, first weekend of the month.... The rest of the month was American "Fortified wine" and local distilled and brewed junk.

We find ways. When I was stationed on the USS Nimitz guys found the alcohol to clean the FLIR and strained the purple dye out of it with bread, yeah that was pretty hardcore/high octane!

Here's a new one for me, wife got these lunchbox sized crock pots, can plug into wall or CLA. I was on a microwave cut, usually no time for lunch but plugged this in in Com Room and within 30 minutes had a hot meal, Yum Bowl with chicken, some kinda rice, chick peas, fixins then topped with cold stuff, yum sauce, sour cream avacado etc. I was really surprised at how it worked!
Any OB beer? Think that's the one I remember while in Osan/Pusan

Desert was only a workaround. MR Beer to the rescue! Or fly in hootch/beer in the mc/KC-130' s refueling pods in the front part where it was empty. Arrived cold also! Beer cans only and they looked like small melons! Morning I guess?
