-27.
Buddy i meet for brekkie isnt around, went to visit his daughter/ granddaughter about 4 hours away. So im out to find a new friend..

Going to start dismantling Lincoln, figure out what i need to take with the engine..

Ain't you cleared that whole property yet? How much of the state do you own? :poke:
Hah! I have not even went back to building the road up on top I am focusing on pasture clearing this winter. There is so much to do I just focus on one area per season. The land had been feral for about fifty to seventy five years when we purchased it. The parcel was cut off by a good size creek so zero access. First thing we had to do was build a bridge to even gain access. That is how we purchased so many acres so cheaply. It has been a lot of work. As I age I am contemplating how I will manage it physically? Considering building a small house on the place and rent fee is property maintenance. I just don’t see me physically able to keep up with it as my body deteriorates.

@dartnabout
@zkx14

Do you know what that material is you can get up there that packs like pavement....I think it's either from shale (Frack) or limestone processing??

Up here it is called modified. If you go to the Limestone quarry here you have a choice of Modified 1A 2A 2B Dirty 2B and right up the line getting bigger as you go up. Modified is quite fine and actually used on the icy/snow covered roads. It packs like concrete but you need dirty 2B it is the size of your finger nail but is not clean it has a clay binder and used in the base of driveways once that is packed down you can add 1A and when it is settled add the modified.

LOL. I get it. I have less than an acre and can always find something that 'needs done'

Yep. thats the other name I was trying to remember - 2B Modified.

I put 10 yards of 22A in my driveway last fall. It has a fair amount of clay in it. Will need at least that much more this spring. Plus, I am going to build a driveway to my barn from the current turnaround. That will take some work as there is a low spot in the middle of the proposed path. Thinking I’ll get the top soil out of there then add sand before I add the 22A.

Now there is a PENDOT guy leaning on a shovel there!
They don't have shovels. All just stage props. Not much going on now, but this past fall seemed like more flaggers than workers. Rt 24 heading up to work they kept doing random patches. Last I know it was about as smooth as a frozen field.

Good Morning All! John @Sublime one You nailed it, while the nurse couldn't explain the lab results and making the call of gout, Dr. prescribed the meds for it, started pills last night and swelling down, motion is up. Hoping to be able to walk today or tomorrow.

As we get older the mind is willing, but the body says screw this.

When we built our gravel driveway foundation was made out of recycled concrete. I'll say it packed nicely but wasn't filtered that well, no magnet used I'd guess, we had everything in there from pieces of CAT5 cabling to nails. Put down some fairly thick 5/8 minus Lakeside gravel and it's been good

How big of a parcel are you on? I’m on 10 acres and it’s raw, never touched, slowly been fighting back nature on it.

Burial of 2 million birds after avian flu outbreak raises concerns in Seymour

Things locally are pretty heated over this. The route they’re taking is a bull crap lie. It puts them right next to thousands of dairy, beef, another independent chicken farm amongst dozens of small farms. People locally getting pissed, especially with the burial risks. Our county is known for small feuds on a much smaller scale than the Tug wars of the Hatfields and McCoys, so this will get interesting soon

Yeah looks messy, didn't realize it could cause problems for beef farmers.
