Owner understands the work involved, he’s currently building an airplane. Something called a Bushmaster. Ya, i know-Karl is missing another good one.
Started with an airframe, had it stretched and larger wings made.
He covered it, now its in paint stage.

Not a easy task at all. Especially without a A&P license every step has to be looked at by I think the FAA? Buddy did a Kitfox in HI.

If you are building an experimental plane? I did not know that I thought if you build it you are the A&P I want to build one but it will never happen for me.

If you have a A and P they wave certain inspections. Man they looked at everything he did before it got covered. and still in work.

I really want it to work as designed. LOL>..These things were mass produced and maintained in peoples driveways. How hard could it be??
Sorry to hear this Chris.

At this point in the game, if it were me, I would send Lon a ticket and beg for help. He has some special tranny fluid what worked very well also. @lkopaska

Morning gang

Well, back to the drawing board...rewind 2 years and I'm pulling the transmission out. This time, low gears, no upshift. Thought it might just be high band and kickdown and throttle adjustments but there is a bit of a growl/grind in there as well which could be front pump or other malfunction. Last time I went FAFO I broke my 225, so out she's gotta come. It'll be a couple of weeks before I get to it though. First, because I'm emotionally crushed and pissed....second is that I have a few other things around the house to tend to before I dive into that.

Thinking I should just rebuild that other core that I have and do a swap.

Been looking at the A904 rebuild kits online. So hard to tell what will or won't work for the 64 typewriter version.

Looking at this one from Oregon Performance Transmission A904 Rebuild Kit A998 A999 Automatic Transmission Master Overhaul Banner Box Set Torqueflite 6

Anyone have an option that worked for them? I'm not smart enough to do a bit by bit order from A&A. The kit is way simpler for me as opposed to trying to match up disparate parts.

I built lots of planes without a license. :p

I bet. When I had the plane my A&P was cool. He knocked off a lot of money if I helped. So I took all the inspection plates off and replaced them after he inspected it

I was asked by a friend in Cali to be his company Avionics guy putting in autopilot systems etc. If Cali did not suck so bad would have prob done it money was crazy.

O man, that just suks. I would look at calling in some air support @lkopaska that is just such a kick in the nuts. I remember when I was building the Cuda I had some similar repetitive type issues . At one point I had it pushed out of the shop matches in hand. Sometimes ya just gotta walk away for a bit.
