Stop in for a cup of coffee

That reminds me of a young Marine rotating home and decided to bring some desert sand home with him as a memento. Stuffed a glass jar full of sand and wrapped it cammies then stuffed in sea bag. Keep in mind luggage delivery comprised of a pallet with a pyramid of sea bags that got kicked out of the back of a C130 with a chute on it while jump master laughing like a hyena says chase your luggage boys! It hits the deck the dogs go over it and then you head home, thankful to once again be back, alive and on US soil. I get to barracks and open mine to a sea bag full of glass shards and sand on everything I own. Epic fail!

Fred is good people for sure. He has been in my shop more times than I can count! I keep a bottle of BV on the shelf just for him! And he always bribes my hounds with treats! And his car is righteous! @Frodee

Looks like we all might invade Lons garage. What could possibly go wrong.
I'm guessing he's real busy this time of year and might have to wait till a few months.

Well luggage didn't make it home proper but hoping you did and am proud of you all for looking after us here at home.

I have been experimenting with a newly designed chest rig (no plates) super slim line, minimalistic and adaptable. Very comfy. Literally just have a small admin pouch at bottom, three mags and ifak, quick release on side panel. Easy on, easy off. It is the best piece of gear I have worn in many a moon.

I like a lightning storm as long as no hail or lots of rain.
I like them too, so long as the strikes don't ignite the brush country  . We don't get many around here. The last one we had, got a strike about 2 blocks from my house. It got a sizable tree in a backyard. It took out the brick wall next to the tree and ignited the house on the other side of the yard. :(

All-purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment aka ALICE Pack

Supposed to be for 50 to 70 pounds...we usually rolled with around 100 - 125 pounds

The safest place for your things that break is in the middle of the main compartment, but for other things that you need quick access to, you usually put those in the top flap pouch, since when you "rucksack flop" the side pouches will absorb the impact with the ground.

Much of that remains constant, except for the "top flap" rule when conducting airborne operations, which inverts the rucksack

I say all that, to say this....

My Demo Sergeant, after an infiltration jump and relatively long movement carrying our rucksacks, does the flop as we take a break... Pulls open the top flap of his rucksack and makes the comment "I guess I shouldn't have put my banana in the top flap"... Which in total darkness and fairly exhausted...was EXTREMELY funny.

Banana mush covered everything in that pocket.

Yikes.

Yeah, nice to see at some distance. Gets pretty scary pretty quickly up close
