All-purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment aka ALICE Pack

Supposed to be for 50 to 70 pounds...we usually rolled with around 100 - 125 pounds

The safest place for your things that break is in the middle of the main compartment, but for other things that you need quick access to, you usually put those in the top flap pouch, since when you "rucksack flop" the side pouches will absorb the impact with the ground.

Much of that remains constant, except for the "top flap" rule when conducting airborne operations, which inverts the rucksack

I say all that, to say this....

My Demo Sergeant, after an infiltration jump and relatively long movement carrying our rucksacks, does the flop as we take a break... Pulls open the top flap of his rucksack and makes the comment "I guess I shouldn't have put my banana in the top flap"... Which in total darkness and fairly exhausted...was EXTREMELY funny.

Banana mush covered everything in that pocket.
The humor takes a definite turn towards the macabre when sleep deprivation is a thing. There is no end to the things that are created. Of course you never remember most of it!

Your door bundle story sparked that. LoL.

Same guy who brought a reindeer pelt back from Norway and washed it in the Team Room washing machine... and didn't tell anyone. We were picking that crap out of our PT stuff and Gear for months

I like them too, so long as the strikes don't ignite the brush country  . We don't get many around here. The last one we had, got a strike about 2 blocks from my house. It got a sizable tree in a backyard. It took out the brick wall next to the tree and ignited the house on the other side of the yard. :(
Wow sorry to hear that Alex.

LOL now I understand, thanks for clearing that up.

I think i read that book as a kid

"Wheeeeee" he screamed, as he raced across the parking lot, checkbook in hand, straight into the parts store."
Let's see, what did I buy last? Oh, a nutsert tool this afternoon. My trunk lock cover has left Sweden. LOL. My weatherstrips will be here tomorrow. I got a tracking number for the title. I can get it licensed and insured. No word on the seatbelts yet.

So when I was riding around the other day, I spotted this new breakfast restaurant/ Cafe. Hu Tieu Muc 139. It always seems to be busy with customers. Which means the food must be good. Something I learned here long ago .So this morning I stopped in there. I don't really like to eat Muc which is squid. And to my surprise they also had Hu Tieu Tom, which is Shrimp. Was pretty dang good and they gave you six. Nice Shrimp in there as well. Will be back.

Son was flying out this morning, last day at camp. 300 lbs of tools along with his gear to come home. The airline knew about the tools but refused to take them. Son says im not leaving without my tools. He gets moved to next flight out, in the meantime realizes his backpack is gone. No wallet or keys. He was furious. Lands at airport, his backpack was in his truck. Guess ramp rat loaded it. He had a hard day. Fed up and likely wont go back.

Good Morning everyone. Chilly here, frost was on the truck. Got my Orbis X-ray done last night - Double check to make sure eyes are free of metal. Now just need to be careful/mindful until tomorrow evening for my MRI.

Elton John is the musical guest on SNL this coming Saturday! I think there is more to his appearance than just Rocket Man :D
Long story. Short version . he did a one night show at a casino in PA. A few years back. My little friend Tina's brother was a best boy. He gave her back stage passes to meet him. Can you take me and we can meet him. Told her we have already met. She didn't believe me. jumped a foot of the floor when he heard my voice. He is very good at peoples voices.
Hoppy knows the complete story.Tina confirmed at when a few of us had lunch at a local Restaurant in his town.

Wow, I never thought about metal in your eyes. Yes a MRI could really mess with that!..
