Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
Long ago when I was makin' concrete for the Shuttle at So VAFB they chased us off the base one day for a launch just up the beach. We were driving home and felt and heard the rumble of the launch and it quit very suddenly. My passenger got a glimpse, "find a place to stop so you can take a look!" That Atlas made up it's mind that it didn't want to go to space and self-destructed about 2000' off the pad  Turned the sky orange:eek: Next day we see that it turned all the vegetation around the launch site orange also :realcrazy:

Same. I’m trying to make one of the big three this year, maybe 2. Nats is easiest as it’s only 3 hours.
If the Nat's was only 3 we would probably be there. We always had lots of fun at that show. We rented a small swap meet spot for a place to set up the Easy-Up, grill and chairs. 2 tickets in for the weekend and a parking place. Split hotel, gas, and lunch at the show. It made for a cheap trip.

No rockets here, just relaxing with coffee watching deer in front yard, 8 of them
Wifes car just got out of the shop second time after she hit second deer. I forgot to mention the deer up the hill on Silverlake as we headed out, when I saw him coming home from work had two feet on one side of fogline, two on the other and eating grass right on edge of road. Anyway, he was there and it's now proven, the Stinger is a deer magnet. That deer jumped up and across the road right in front of us, I told her slam on the brakes (Brembos) as she was trying to slowly stop....um no. Anyway, we averted a third trip to the body shop and the deer lived to see another day.
