Most of you know I sent my motorbike up to Saigon the same day I left Vinh Long. I did check with them a couple of weeks ago and they told me 270,000 dong. $10 USD. When I took my Yamaha there on Friday they said oh it's so big, it's going to be $400,000 dong. $15 USD. Okay no big deal, send it. Told me it would be there on Saturday, but I went away to the beach with Lynda for 2 days. So they texted her on Sunday and said it was here. So then her son had to drive me on his motorbike all the way across the other side of the city to their freight Depot. 30 min drive. When I get there and show them the paperwork they unwrap the minimum cardboard that they had taped onto the bike. When I went to start it it won't start. They left the key in the on position since Friday I'm assuming. So of course I'm getting angry and I'm asking them about it there at their Depot. Of course they tell me the problem was caused on the shipping end in Vinh Long. No bosses or anybody else to talk to there so Thang, her son rides beside me with his right foot on the rear peg of my bike and pushes me about a half a mile to a motorcycle repair shop. Sure enough the battery is not only dead but shot. So now I pay 550, 000 dong. $21 USD for a new battery. As soon as we get power to the bike I notice that they stole 3/4 of a tank of gas also.WTF ???? So I guess the moral of the story is, you don't always get exactly what you pay for in Vietnam. So by the time I paid them to send it, pay for a new battery and filled up with gas. I had about $40 USD invested in the whole deal. But I was pissed. I cannot stand incompetency. We called them yesterday evening but they didn't answer the phone. So Lynda left a few messages but I don't think we'll get any answer. But I will post a complaint on their website.. Other than that, all is well here in Hoc Mon Saigon. Three more days with her here and then I am out....

It's raining pitchforks and hammer handles out there. We got the car unloaded just in time. It was a pretty miserable drive across the state. 3 of the 4 hours was in thr dark in the rain. I don't do that so well any more. Thanks Hod it was on a 4 lane road. All I can see is black and shiny roadway and some reflectors on the side of the road. All the white lines and sode strioes are worn off and need to be repainted. Pretty much driving blind so I slowed down to a little over 55. That helped. I also dimmed the dash lights and got the wife to shut her damn phone off. Scrolling through Facebook is pretty annoying when the screen flashes in my side vision. Damn, I'm getting old. Thanks for listening
