Any of you guys ever run a old 1 field wire alt? My regulator decided to give the battery ALL the charge... belt started squealing.. i notice the charge meter pegged... grabbed my old original 62 regulator, charges fine but has a issue with smoke which is why i replaced it, the one that is overcharging was a NOS mopar one..

What i was wondering is there a replacement that isn't mechanical/points without changing the alt out which is new..

Mike if you get a sec could you delete this thread for me.. gonna order one tomorrow.. so not needed now

I am having the same exact issue. I think VR was the issue; still diagnosing. I think the pins in the wire were jacked up.

Glad I took a 20 mile drive in my 66, I just got back from a quick run to dollar store (4 mile trip there and back) in my truck, someone has built a new road and all the mud and gravel was washed out on the road, my all terrain tires picked up gravel and sand and it's all over my lower fenders and lower bed, I bet it was 2 inches deap!! Glad I was doing 45.

I can honestly say it was a great day spent with 2 friends. There wasn't much talk about cars (some) but more on where we are in life and where we may be going but especially where we have been. Chris has a knowledge of history that blew me away. Thanks Chris if I had a History teacher like you I may have passed the class the first or second time. And the connection with Scott with us both being in Corrections and dealing with bone heads. I had a great time and it was a great break from the routine. Thanks Guys!

What a great day, thanks again for lunch!

My pleasure. Glad you guys liked the spot

Oh and we talked about the coffee crew. It was a GREAT time!

Any time. I get a bit carried away on the history bits. Bedford has a lot of amazing stories associated with it. The fact that it was the "Frontier" back in the day is very cool.

Look forward to our next gathering.

Sounds like a good time around the table to me, I would have been in silence mode, you guys have some great experiences behind your belt, I would have learned a lot, couldn't emagin working at a prison, but wish I had school boy history, I could have told yall what it was like to be grown up by age 14 lol, or being stuck in a soft area on a JD 4020 for 6 hours , one hour in the dark at 12 in an apple orchard waiting on some one to realize I was not moving big boxes we put apples in and mom already at her work at a club serving drinks, farmer came and got me, the sound of a tractor at night never sounded so good..
