Yep,
Moisten the push button cable with some good lube, then with a firm grip insert into the firewall, it will be hard pushing at first but with a gentle push pull action you will gradually be able to insert the full length thru the firewall you will know it is all the way thru when it goes limp in your hand, at that point grab the rear end of the cable where it tapers down and with some additional vigor work it side to side like a crab walking on the beach. At that point you can then spread the legs on the female portion of the bracket and slip it over the protruding portion on the backside of the panel. The tranny is now operable but regular lubing is necessary to reduce friction and the gradual deterioration of the device.
Good luck
.well done.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I'm circle back later and read. I'm sure I'll appreciate it

Right now if someone walked up with 30 bucks and a warm beer I'd give them this POS

Just my 2 cents Chris but if I lived a bit closer right now I'd come over with a cold 6 pack of beer and 2 cigars and try to get your mind off working on your project because it sounds like you need a break.

Nomination for Dumb AF engineering award. "I think the battery is too easy to get to up top. Let's put that 40lb lump up in here. Oh and make the terminals a PITA to get off. And put a removable section there but leave the upper part long enough that it's in the way... "

It's because it's done by people with no common sense. Extremely good with figgerin but give them a wrench or even a screw driver and no idea which end to hold.

Ruh-roh What burned?
well the air cleaner and it melted some wires until I got the lid off and got the air cleaner off. It must have been gas soaked because I couldn't get it out so I singed me arms to throw it in the yard and by that time it had the whole top of the engine a burnin. I was torn as to go get a fire extinguisher which was over in the shed or keep trying. I had a rag and kept trying to get it out and then I won some how.
