Well.. took that apart for nothing.. on the upside only took a hour.. will take a full day to put back together :)

This motor is making me nuts.. can't wait to do the next one.. and i will get to post a "Help me pick a cam" thread :) Actually i will prolly call brian johnson and have him make me a cam

Looks perfect from here. And it's even a couple states away.
yeah.. i was going to put it dot to dot.. but i am pretty sure now that i degree'd it correctly. My next step after putting this back together and praying it doesn't leak.. is to smoke the intake and check for leaks.. i'm almost wondering if i have a vacuum leak into the valley or between ports.. i had to do some bad stuff to get it to fit due to edelbrock sucking balls... "Made in the USA" bs... grrr.. will never not be mad bout it.

Been doing research and it seems a big vacuum leak will make a motor want a stupid amount of timing and also no power like mine is

My timing chain is pretty dry... none of the small blocks i have taken apart have an oil slinger, just the drip guide thing.. might try to drill a hole in one of the cam plate bolts

Good morning everyone. I hope all is well. Friday for me. Have to do grocery run and some odds and ends after work. Leaving tomorrow AM for MITP!! Can't believe it is here already
