Good morning
35* and nice. Feels like spring. How's Colorado this morning
This whole hip, Blizzard, -30, broken plow truck and riding a tractor around in the cold has me thinking. Is all this crap really worth it? Im 61 and thinking im pretty much screwed. Also, I’m in my early 60’s, and I can’t help but think how much of a PITA it’s going to be to keep that driveway safe and ice free so I don’t hurt myself when I’m 70, 75, 80….
Gotta come up with Plan B soon.
Yep, I keep telling my wife sooner or later I won't be able to or want to take care of all this. Probably sooner. Also, I’m in my early 60’s, and I can’t help but think how much of a PITA it’s going to be to keep that driveway safe and ice free so I don’t hurt myself when I’m 70, 75, 80….

Should have invested in geotextile. Municipality did 1/2 mile across a bad stretch, 4”crushed graniteon the geo and topped it with our local gravels. It has been holding up really well. Most of the roads here are acoss swamps and pete moss. Corduroy was the base. They dug ditches to drain the swamps and the spoil piles became the roads. Built with draglines on swamp pads.I hear ya there. We built my driveway with 18 inches of stone.
6 inches of 0s
6 inches of #2s
6 inches of 53s mixed with crushed limestone.
It’s all sunk into the clay. Gonna have to all at least 6-12 more inches of 53s in
I have a light out on the peak of the garage as well. It's 25' up. I don't need to be on that ladder and I would hate it if one of the kids would go up to change the bulb and fell. I need to rent a man lift of a weekend or so. Do some painting and bulb replacement.A lot of things just get harder to do. My yard light went out with the heavy wind. My sweetie won’t let me go up the extension ladder. Wait for son in law to come for Christmas visit
It must be TBIMorning!
-18°/0°f . Not terrible.
Fuel tank comes out again, guess i screwed up the pump install. Or pump is bad. Had a battle with my fuel pressure tester, did the ol quick coupler delete. It struggled to reach 10 psi, i need 15.
I got my Cat Scan results back. All seems to be ok. No kidney stones which is good. It's amazing all they can see, if you want them to or not

hire a young guy to do itAlso, I’m in my early 60’s, and I can’t help but think how much of a PITA it’s going to be to keep that driveway safe and ice free so I don’t hurt myself when I’m 70, 75, 80….

I think today is the best day this week for it since I really don't want to be waiting to get in the lab in the rain
I was told by one of the technicians that coffee does not affect the sample
I looked into it, no local suppliers and the cost to haul it in from Illinois was stupid expensive.Should have invested in geotextile. Well, there’s a business for you then. The rolls are light and you can fit a decent stack on a trailer.I looked into it, no local suppliers and the cost to haul it in from Illinois was stupid expensive.

I was going to get recycled crushed asphalt, but the first load they brought, had TONS of concrete reinforcement wire strands all in it, tire popping mess so we sent it backThe pricing in the crushed rock industry is definitely different. Generally they charge more for the products they have to process less![]()
Sounds like the producer needs a big electro magnet over the conveyor to pull that stuff out.I was going to get recycled crushed asphalt, but the first load they brought, had TONS of concrete reinforcement wire strands all in it, tire popping mess so we sent it back
I'm just happy I was present when they went to dump it. I stopped it before they laid down 900 feet of the crapSounds like the producer needs a big electro magnet over the conveyor to pull that stuff out.
