Morning all ! Hope everyone is well ! haven't been on in a while , busy with the pooch ! No way am I back reading !!

Filled it with oil, cranked it over, it has a tick while cranking, very strange, maybe a sticky valve or a couple collapsed lifters. And oil pan gasket is leaking, dangit. Seems like bolts are too long and not getting any squish. Trying a couple washers to see if it changes.

Talks about how they (dealerships) can't get mechanics.

It goes on to talk about how the starting salaries are so low and the requirement for the new mechanic to purchase their own tools, etc. and that it takes maybe 5 years to become proficient.

Seems like there's an answer to that, but what do I know.

Shop costs are relatively fixed....
