Stupid Ebay Buyers, why pay more then Amazon

I need a good bicycle lock once the weather gets nice. Look on Amazon and seen some good prices but then I thought ebay might save me $10--$15, wrong ! Waste of time, freaken item goes for $20 more then Amazon has it--same item it sure seems like ?

The days of Ebay deals are long gone I'm afraid. It has now become a giant junk store where anything of value is trying to be sold at or above regular prices. I miss finding a specific quality used item and bidding a reasonable amount. Now it is crawling with re-sellers and hoarder types that make it not worth the effort.

Kind of funny how people just figure that no one ever price shops. Have noticed it on here, guess this particular member does not think that nobody knows about Goggle.....

I look to see what the best price was that seem honest--Amazon is top notch, they sent me the wrong stuff before but took care of it and didn't cost me anything, just hand the item back to the postman

Most times with free shipping Amazon is cheaper, no sales tax, no shipping, it adds up when its heavy, like a case of motor oil.

I find it HARD to BELIEVE about that nugget, might just be ebay pulling a fast one for "free press time" Might be ebay its self bidding and driving the item up, then it hits all the papers..might be some people in ebay marketing depts bidding on these crazy items

is this a special must have bike lock? it seems to me ,for the shipping cost alone, you could go down and buy one at a bike shop, or wally world for that matter. or am i missing something here

Personally speaking,I've had EXCELLENT EXPERIENCES with Ebay,the ease of use and the ability to compare ebay prices too !!! When it comes to retail, I've found that most new item sellers charge less on their websites than on eBay. And more than once after asking a question, the seller directs me to their actual site. I think eBay is more of a marketing tool for some sellers. They have no choice but to charge more due to the listing, final value, and seller paypal account fees. I had a pretty good eBay side business years ago. If you have a niche market, you can do OK. But for lowest price for readily available items, it's almost never the right choice. I say almost, because there are cases where eBay makes it pretty easy to buy from little mom and pop shops in other countries. I recently bought a set of British made Wipac driving lights for my Cooper from a little garage in England. Even after paying the VAT taxes, and shipping, and of course converting from $ to Pound, it was better than I could do domestically. So much so, that when I realized I accidentally purchased chrome, rather than stainless, I put them for sale on a MINI forum classifieds here in the US, and made $40.00 over the total I paid.
