Super Stock Springs and Rear End Questions

Yup they must be de-arched. The are the correct dimensions for SS springs. Dammit. Thanks for all the help and Assistance guys

do you see part numbers on the springs?

also, you can measure* along the spring from the centerpin to the front bushing, should be 20" if i'm not mistaken.
measure from the centerpin to the rear spring bushing, that is???

*don't measure a straight line from the pin to the center of the bushing. use a flexible tape or something so you can measure along the arch...

Springs are 20" to pin in front and 36 to rear eye center.
 
I thought I read somewhere that B & E body S/S springs are an inch longer in the rear segment.

All Mopar A Body 20" front /35" rear /55 total
1962-1963 B-body 20" front / 35" rear / 55 total
1964-1965 B-body 21" front / 35" rear / 56 total
1966-1979 B-body 22" front / 36" rear / 58 total
Mopar SS Springs 20" front / 36" rear / 56 total

All SS springs are the same length. To use SS springs on a B/E body you need extended front hangers because the springs are shorter. I have a set of SS springs holding up the rear axle of my '71 Dart right now that were purchased for and run on my Challenger before I figured out that SS springs are lousy for handling. The shackle position on the Dart is fine, stock front hangers.
 
Hello FABO friends that have helped me through my time of need, I have finally have the Scamp back together. I lowered the front end that was probably 2 inches too high (driver side torsion bolt was right up). I bought 2 P3412002 springs from the dealer at a way cheaper price then buying them from the states and shipping to Canada. The car shackles are now only angled slightly back like shown to me in a previous post! :)

That sounds excellent. I read through the posts and all of your troubles with the SS lead springs. Luckily, the used ones that I purchased and put in with 7 1/4 rear for very well. Did you drive the car yet to see how it feels and handles?

Just a short trip around the block. Rear feels way stiffer but not as bad as I was thinking.
 
According to Direct Connection Racing Manual, #30 Rear Suspension, both 35" and 36" rear segment are used on the SS springs. I have a set of the 35" type.
And when it comes to the rear shocks, the recommended HD Imperial Shocks are at least 25" eye to eye extended.

Could be Chrysler soon found out the angle of rear shackle was not optimal with the 35" segment, and added an extra inch.
Just a thought...

The ones I got were 25 and a bit eye to eye extended
