Hey all, thinking bout building a blown 225. Any guys had a go at this? Would love some direction amd ideas, obviously not chasing big hp otherwise would just build a v8. Just wanting something bit different, heaps of v8's and 245/265ci straight 6 hemi's here in AUS. Also considering fuel injected turbo.. open to ideas Cheers

I've seen bolt on supercharger setups both roots type and centrifugal types for the slant. The supercharger store has one of those.

If I was to build a slant it would be supercharged.

I saw one at the Mopar Nats this year. It appeared that it was a supercharger off of a factory Ford engine.

Unusual car but...whatever

Around here you find the small Eaton blowers used on stuff like GM V6s cheap

Hit your local self service salvage yard. Pontiac Bonneville with the super charged 3800 are pretty common and the self service yards are pretty cheap.

The Ford supercharged cars are A little harder to find.

Here's a 225 I built. Turns 12-flat @ 112 quarter-mile times (extrapolated from 1/8th-mile timeslip, by Wallace computers online) on 15 pounds of boost, weighing 3,000-pounds including driver. NOT CHEAP.... :banghead:

Here's a video that shows what is possinle on gasoline, if you know what you're doing; this guy obviously does...

Here is a video of my dart. I bought the first kit from the supercharger store. I had this driveline in a blue duster that's on the site but I sold the car.

Yes I am using water injection. The kit is from bob at the supercharger store as well. Don't have any hp numbers on 15 lbs of boost. At 8 lbs of boost it made 308 rwhp on a chassis dyno and it would run 12.90s 1/4 mile. That was in the duster that is on their website, I haven't had a chance to fine tune it in the dart or get to a track at 15 lbs of boost hoping for low 12s or dip into the elevens we'll see

Now that's impressive. /\ /\ /\

I'd consider a slant given this new option from the SC store.

My engine build was expensive but I went this route because I prefer a supercharger. The only thing I would like to change is the convertor never been real happy with the 10" that is in it right now.

No not enough convertor need a higher stall and probably go to a 8 or 9 inch convertor. The car I drive to work regular and cruise so not too worried about the best et possible.

I'd be thinking 8". I mean I run a 9" behind my big block that makes gobs of torque and it is very efficient.

The eatons are a dry intake, the teflon coating on the lobes will vanish under our methanol infused gas. Efi only as the rear entry design pretty much mandates that anyway. I dont know if the Eaton would provide 15 psi on a 225, maybe a 170. Turbo is alot more flexible.

I make 300hp at the crank in my A100 without power adders. Involves a lot of machining and special parts but, a lot of fun to drive!
