I has anybody done this? I have a 65 Valiant 200 convertible that is a slant six car and the original motor and trans are gone. I have a 66 225//904 that I am going to swap in so I need the steering column that has the linkages instead of the cables to make it work. Is there any other problems that I haven't foreseen to this swap? And does anybody in or close to Texas have a 66 column to sell?

Thanks

I put a 67 column and linkage in my 65 B body with a 71 727 trans. Manual steering.As long as you have all the attaching linkage it's a easy bolt in.This will also work in a a body. I got all the parts needed from Wild Cat auto wreckers in Oregon for about $250 shipped.Just a thought if you can't find any local.

I'm thinking that the 63-66 A st columns are all a direct swap as far as fitment?. I do know the inner shaft will interchange easily if you need the shorter one for power st or the longer one for manual steering. The outer housing is the same (I've swapped em) & it is only held in place by the snap ring on top. (easiest swap ever).

B-onefan;

Yes it will work, you may have some figuring on the linkages as far as where they run. But it all is swappable. I put a 66 Barracuda Dash in my 65 Signet.

Yes, it will work great. I'm going to do the same swap in my 65 wagon. Make sure you get everything for the swap.

when you do the swap, someone post the assembly diagram for the steering wheel/horn/cancellation cam. I took mine apart last year and cant remember the order of all the washers...? Im going to do the shaft swap as soon as I get the directions.
