T-Stat housing options?

Has anyone used or made a different style thermostat housing that comes off of the engine sideways instead of up? Is the bolt spacing the same as some other engine you have found? Just asking because I'm considering aftermarket radiator options for the leaning tower....

I do beileve a T-stat housing from a Chevy will do the trick.
