Thanks for the help. Intermittent automatic transmission sometimes it wont move in any gear.

I understand,,,,it’s easy to trip up on if Mopars are new to you .
Even most off brand mechanics don’t fully understand that part .

I’m assuming you already were running the transmission ?
Why did they change the converter ?
Or was it just because it was a 360 converter and they removed the balance weight ?

Either way it needs to have the fluid changed and filter swapped .
There could have been contamination when the trans lines were removed .

After that I suspect an issue with the valve body .
Trash in a valve or just a sticking valve .

The converter was not changed, they simply knocked off the weight after the engine was installed. We were told that had to happen.

The first time I had just test drove it and when I restarted the car I had nothing. The 2nd time I started it up after 3 days and backed it out of the garage to let it run for a while. When I went to put it away it did it. Thanks. I will recheck the fluid absolutely correctly on level ground when I return home. The shop owner checked it the first time while I was in the car. It was not in neutral and the ground was not perfectly level. I figured he knew what he was doing.
Lots of so-called "professionals" don't know Torqueflites need to be fluid checked warmed up and in neutral. Just remember to chock the wheels and set the parking brake. We'd hate to see your car roll away. lol

Yes, BUT if the removed the converter and then reinstalled it, there's always the possibility they didn't reinstall it correctly. They didn't know how to check the fluid either. Let's hope it's not the converter installed wrong. That would be a mess.

Yepper, manual or auto . This one rolled about 100'.

After I made sure it was full at hot idle in neutral I'd be looking into that modified aftermarket shifter.

If there was damage at the converter/front pump are it would be a continuous problem

It was almost a pint low. I added 12 ounces and so far so good. I will take out around town as soon as I can. My shifter worked as designed prior to the motor swap but you never know.

Yes,,the shifter could be out of adjustment a little now .
It might be almost out of position depending on how the detents align up ?

And with a Mopar with a short pan,,,a pint makes a big difference sometimes .
Actually,,,12 ounces is almost a quart,,, and the dip stick could be a little bit off as well .
I hope it fixes your problem .

Good luck .

Edit:
That is a beautiful shifter by the way,,,Awesome !

Just for review

Quart is 32 oz
Pint is 16oz
Cup is 8oz

So 12 oz is not almost a quart, it's less than half a quart. It is 1.5 cups, not very much
