The road through your windshield

Wife and I went for a drive in the hills. Drove up through FairPlay and on to Leadville, for you low lander Leadville is at 10270 ft above sea level. Then back east through the Eisenhower tunnel that’s 2 1/2 miles long.

That's some truly awesome country up there. I went through the tunnel a couple years ago, all I could smell was brakes in every direction! Lol

Colorado (and Utah!) was always my favorite state to drive around in. SO much beauty all around. Just an awe-inspring state!!
Only been to Colorado once thus far, but damn pretty! Been through Utah a few times, and Arizona, both have awesome scenery.

I have lived here all my life, 66 years and I’m still in awe of nature.

Not through my windshield, but through my buddy Frank's '70 Charger R/T. My Jaundiced GT is 2 cars ahead of Frank. This photo was taken on the "drive/cruise" portion of our Tuesday evening ice cream gathering.

If you're from metro-Detroit, and you like ice cream and cruising, you should join us for both!

Come on spring!!

That eastward incline combined with high elevation up to the Eisenhower tunnel was brutal to my 1967 Chevy II six cylinder with 1 bbl carb and smog pump.

It would slow to a jogger’s pace. I was afraid to stop, fearing I wouldn’t be able to get going again. Soooo slow!

Elevation is a hell of a thing.

That climb kicks the snot out of a lot of vehicles.

The curator of the (a) Kurt Cobain museum in his native Aberdeen, believes he drove an early Dart back in the day. I don’t think this is the same car but part of the exhibit anyway….they call the museum Unplugged.

Went for a drive with the wife unit up to Cripple creek and Victor and the down to Canon City. We went down Phantom Canyon which was a narrow-gauge railroad Rought to bring gold ore out of Cripple creek. Said gold mine is still going strong to this day.

Painted the front of the 1969 Trailer House today, and checked the seal at the roof edge.
