Thinking of buying digital headlights

Thinking of buying digital headlights,What are the downsides?
You mean, besides possibly blinding the oncoming traffic if the lights are not manufactured to DOT Spec’s?

I read about this a lot, and I always wonder, “How often is that vehicle going to be driven at night?”

Anyway, if you do it, please do it right, not like a lot of the a**holes out there.

No real digital headlights; even LEDs are analog. :p

Seriously - what's the goal for these headlights? Solve an existing lighting problem, look high tech, or what? We need to define what you're trying to accomplish with different headlights first. As Yogi Bera may have said, "If you don't know where you're going, you'll end up somewhere else."

(They do come with fingerprints? )

LED or even HID headlights may look too "modern" depending on the general appearance of your classic. If you have a light issue, try to find a couple of European specs. H4 headlamps, make sure your electrical circuit is in good shape, I would go with relays to ensure a full current supply to the bulbs (and to save the light switch too against melting).

More accurately, Holley has been reselling some generic Chinese headlights under the Retrobrite name that really aren't in the same league as JW Speaker or Truck-Lite when it comes to good beam patterns. They do avoid the wolf spider eye look a lot of the LEDs have, but I would only order a set myself if I had some sort of DIY headlight tester and wanted to run a shootout.

Meanwhile, if your goal is nicer and more modern headlights but you don't want a specific technology, I would order a kit Toyota has been selling for Land Cruisers. It's Toyota p/n 81110-60p70.

You also may want to check the lighting laws in your state before you make that "upgrade".
