Super nice. I helped a farmer make a splitter to make cedar fence post. It would take wood 80" long. It wasn't fast but it worked.

If you ever have a LOT of wood to split, you can rent a hydraulic splitter for a half day and save a lot of swinging of the splitting maul. (Helps to have at least one other helper - two teams of two is even better.)

Precisely. We rented a splitter for one day in the fall of 2011, and I've STILL got more wood left than I'll burn this year.

I have a splitter (so I can split at my leisure) but it's still a tough job on the back either way, vertical or horizontal.

What I seen in the video looks like it works great for those "just right" small saw logs. Nothing too big or twisted, or knots. The stuff I used to burn.

That Nordic Splitter is pretty cool...takes most of the risk out of splitting using a slide hammer. Clever.
