Yup, my 340's on its way out I think. I think 7 years of beating on it has taking its toll. Timing jumps all over the place from a stretch timing chain, Lifters pump up at about 5600 rpms and the oil pressure is getting low. Im hoping if I'm nice to it it will last the rest of the summer.

who can complain after 7 yrs on the same motor? i think you should be bragging. fall will be here before you know it and you can start the disassembly. the hard part will be readying the shop. good luk

Yeah, I cant really complain. The motors been together for more then 7 years actually. Thats just how long I've owned it. From what I was told the motor was built with left over parts.

Adam it does sound like it is time to rebuild her you are lucky the motor lasted this long My friend built his shitve (chevy) motor like that and it lasted little over a year.

a chevy guy told me those motors always have bearing problems. none of his rebuilds lasted over 1 yr w/ big blocks even worse
