Somethings make you realize it more than others....called a buddy from work yesterday to wish him a Happy Birthday. Was joking around with him about him being older than dirt...asked, sarcastically, if he got his AARP card yet....he got it 3 years ago....:banghead:

I got mine a 50. :dontknow:

It's good for discounts at a lot of stores, cafes and restaurants, and such.

I get a free "donut" when I walk into Dunkin Donuts. Get a discount at just about every fast food joint Even get a discount at Home Depot.

Stop fighting it and take advantage of it. You've got enough on your plate that your already dealing with to worry about saving a few bucks here ad there.

Cool. There's also another retired organization called AMAC. The Association for Mature American Citizens. I belong to that one, too. Why not? Their both cheap enough, and, like I said, you get discounts wit it, too.

There are also some decent Life insurance rates that they offer. If you don't have insurance,, if if you have some medical issues, you can get a decent rate through AARP.

I don't agree with their politics, but for $17.00 a year, the discounts are worth it.

Most places will give you the SR. Citizen discount once you get to 65, but you can get them much earlier if you has a car from one of these places. lol

My wife fought off getting an AARP card, too, I suppose she was in denial about getting older. Hell, today getting older is like badge of Honor! lol

AARP sold us down the river to cash in on Obamacare so I will not be one of their customers!

Everyone has, or will sell us down the river for O-care. It was always designed to be the ONLY game in town, and it will be within 10 years. It's pure socialism, that's true, but it's also too late to stop it. It's just a fact of life. However, if it means that much to you, then look at AMAC. The are a VERY conservative organization.

As I said, I belong to both.

wow, and here I was feeling old because when I joined FABO I was still in the "young gun" category and now im not there anymore :pale:
