the bike and push it to the corner of the garage. Ripped open the oil sump cover back in the end of June. Ordered one on line, company shipped it to the house using the Post Office. Problem is we do not have mail box so do not have service. So it got returned. After a dozen or calls/emails gave up and went looking for a Custom Chrome dealer in town. One of them is apparently going out of business, one was going to Sturgis. The third ordered me the part number I gave them....but some chucklehead did not realize he was looking at a Gen II motor....and said chucklehead has a Gen III motor. So they ordered me the right one. Said it was coming from a warehouse on the East Coast. They got there delivery today....that particular warehouse did not have it, even though the computer said they did. ETA at this point.....unknown....Even if it shows up by Friday it does not matter....Ernie is leaving for 10 days on Saturday and seeing as how the bike has very little road time on it this year I simply will not trust it...:violent2:

Oh god, I thought this was going to be something about the Klan... :)

Hope you get it sorted out. I just went through some interesting conversations with a vendor sending the wrong part. They realized what had happened (incorrect descriptions), apologized and told me to keep the wrong part (I can use it later on another project) and sent me the correct part. Pretty cool.

Klan?? Come on now Sir, just because I live in an area known for being full of "White Power" type of folks.....lol......

At least the vendor made good on it. Years ago I bought a grill for our Fairlane.....seller sent me a Galaxy grill by mistake.....sent me the Fairlane grill and told me to keep the Galaxy one....fellow car guy at work was restoring his Galaxy and needed a grill.....

Went to the Custom Chrome shop today, wish I could remember the ladies name behind the counter......part is in the UPS center in Spokane. She will have it tomorrow. Just so happens that Ernie will be passing by there on the way home form her embroidery class tomorrow. Not that it matters, with how few miles I put on it this year don't really want to ride it without Ernie being here....she will be gone form the 16th-26th. Not to mention I went and turned the key on it today just to check the battery.....it be drained.....:banghead::banghead:

When I told the lady that Ernie had a class she asked if she does any quilting.....more directly if she knew of any one with a long arm....be nice if Ernie could help her out with a quilt that her Grandma started a couple of decades ago and never finished....
