[Found!] timing cover and balancer

[68 CUDA FORMULA S]

I need to change the timing cover and balancer on this 1971 340 to the 1968 cover and balancer so I can use the rest of the correct 1968 parts, if you have them let me know along with shipping to 48346 Michigan.

I have a nice used dated '68 timing chain cover. It's been degreased and glass beaded. All threads good. Ready for a new seal and paint. $95 plus ship. PM if interested.

I have timing cover, balancer, W/P pulley,dual lower pulley, Alternator brackets , Power steering pump and brackets on a 69 which is the same on 68.

make sure you get the right water pump, one is cast ,.the other is aluminum. just a thought

Not to hijack the thread, but if someone can clue me in on what timing covers have timing tabs on the left and tabs on the right,

Except 67 and older are on the pass side but use a timing cover with a removable timing tab. Bolts on

Hmmmm... reason I asked is I have a 360, the timing tab is on the drivers side, but I can't see it because the lower radiator hose passes in front. here's a pic, not pretty.

Because your using the early model iron water pump on a later model timing cover.

You need to switch timing covers to a pre 69 one and either use the early balancer or re mark the one you have to tdc on the passenger side.

Okay, bought this car a few days ago, trying to figure out what I have, so it's the wrong pump and radiator?

An early 67 date code. correct style for 68. The cast in cover, is a 69 MODEL year version. My 67 is available to buy if wanted.
