Hey folks, so many great suggestions here, I love to read thread after thread, but sometimes I get a little confused. I believe it is because the gray hair coming out of my head is actually gray matter leaking out from my brain and I cant stop it for some reason!
I have installed my front disc brakes from a donor 73 and has it been a learning experience! All sorts of odd things have come up and I am trying to work them out one by one.
Latest is the one wheel too far forward and rubs the fender. I have a set of stock rallye 14" wheels that currently have P215x70xSR14s on them until I can get the car to the tire shop for new tires and then a front end alignment.
From all the reading it looks like I need to check caster/camber after ride height and see if that addresses the tire position situation. I also found that the struts need to be at 40ftlb so that should set the LCA correctly, right?
So now I am looking for tires to go with on the rallye 14" wheels.
The car is a /6 so I dont want to go too big so does the 215/70-14 see like the right tire or should I go 205 or 195?
I respect all the input here so if you have some pointers I would greatly appreciate it.
Here are some pictures I took showing the tire closeness to the fender.
I had one strut bent and replaced it, but did not compare it with the other side or the old bent one.
Thanks for your expert help all!
Cheers

Sorry that I can't help mate, but I have a '63 Val Vert so I'm following the thread with ya!
Let's hope that we get some answers soon!
Good luck

Thanks Gary! I am sure we can get some great responses here, tons of experience and I know that most anything I run into someone has had the "pleasure" before me and will be glad to share their experiences..
Cheers.

Your stock tire was a, 6.50 x 13 (24.58" tall)

Now you have a, 215-70-14 (25.9" tall)

A, 195-70R14 (24.7" tall) would be a good choice for a stock size replacement in when using a 14" wheel.

I dont seem to find too many of the 195-70r14 but do see several Radial T/A 195/60 R15 87S RWL tires.
Tire calculator shows this to be 23.21 which is even smaller than my stock tire and seems pretty small, any idea or thoughts on this change?
Thanks,
John
